Alessandro Zeni

Born on June 17th 1991

I’ve started climbing in 2007, at 16, on the rock whit some friends just for a joke, and since then I’ve been thinking about climbing every single day of my life! One year later also my older brother Gianluigi Zeni started to climbing and he’s become my first climbing partner. My favorite climbing style is the slab, where need technique and a lot of fingers strength. I love climbing in any terrain: alpinism, sport climbing, competition, bouldering.. But my heart beats for the mountain and the rock! After some years, some exciting arrived: in 2012 I realized my first 8c+ “Drum time” in Fonzaso’s crag. After this I did some of the hardest ascents of Manolo’s routes like: the first ascent of “In Bilico” (8c), the second ascent of “The dream is free” (8c) and the third ascent of “Ultimo movimento”, which was the first Italian 8b, in 1986. From 2012 on, my best performance rocks were coming up, whit several ascents 8c and 8c+. In the 2015, after a lot of 8a and 8a+ on sight, I did my first 8b on sight. In 2009 I started competitions and one year later I won the Italian youth championship in lead. After three years I was on the podium whit the third place in the Italian boulder championship and after some other podiums I become a member of the Italian national team. In 2014 my big passion for climbing also become my work, so now I’m a professional climber for the Italian Army team. In 2014 I devolved myself also to some alpinistic routes and in 2016 I did the fastest ascent of the hardest Manolo’s multipich “Solo per vecchi guerrieri” 8b+ (Vette Feltrine, Dolomites) at my second go. In the same year I started to bolt some new hard multipich that will be my next projects. Now I directed my interest to find new lines and I want to repeat the hardest multipich of the Alps.
